Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by easyname (Austria). When you visit, the server briefly processes technically necessary data such as your IP address in order to deliver the page (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The web server’s access and error logs are disabled in the server settings. The host nevertheless generates a visitor statistic (AWStats) with technical details such as IP address or host name, time, requested page and browser. It is accessible only with a user name and password, and the operator uses it solely to evaluate usage and to find errors. The host uses a security filter (ModSecurity) and a cache (Varnish), which process requests briefly. The data is not combined with other data. What further data the host processes for running its own systems is governed by the host’s privacy policy.
Cookies, tracking, analytics
This site sets no cookies and uses no advertising or analytics services. The language is derived from your browser settings (Accept-Language) and is not stored.
Local storage in your browser
Your browser stores on your device only your settings (light/dark appearance, image labels on/off) and site files for faster loading and offline use (service worker). This data does not leave your device and can be deleted in your browser settings.
External resources
To display the site, it loads code libraries and icon fonts (Bootstrap, Bootstrap Icons, Chart.js, SunCalc, flatpickr, Leaflet) from the content delivery network jsDelivr. Your IP address is transmitted to its servers. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in a working, fast display (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
If you open the area map, your browser loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation, United Kingdom), which receives your IP address. This only happens once you open the map.
Links to other websites (e.g. webcams, avalanche service) take you to their services; their privacy policies apply there.
Webcam
The camera shows Heinfels Castle and the surrounding area from a long distance. People and licence plates are not recognisable in the published images.
